Betsy Howie
BETSY HOWIE originated the role of Mo in Cowgirls Off-Broadway, having played it previously at the Old Globe Theatre, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Florida Studio Theatre and Caldwell Theatre. As a playwright, her credits include Yours, Truly (Westbeth Theatre Center); The Bridal Fit (Judith Andreson Theatre); and many solo sketch comedy pieces (in which she also performs) at various downtown venues. She received a Carbonell Award nomination, an Emmy nomination (1990) and most recently worked on the award-winning independent feature Cracking Up (Foolish Mortal productions). She is a graduate of NYU and attended Interlochen Arts Academy on scholarship. Her first novel, Snow, was published by Harcourt Brace in fall, 1997.
