J. OCONER NAVARRO is honored to have received a Jonathan Larson Grant in 2007. Works: Awakening (lyrics: Joel B. New, Margo Lion Award, Frederick Loewe Foundation Grant), Onward (Prospect Theatre), Birth Day (Prospect Theatre), and Reception (The Music Theatre Company). As Musical Director: Adding Machine (Obie, Outer Critics Circle, Lortel Awards), Barrio Grrrl! (Kennedy Center, Helen Hayes Nomination), This One Girl's Story, Whida Peru: Resurrection Tangle (Primary Stages), Barrington Stage Company, Hangar Theatre, Lincoln Center Theater, TheatreWorks - Silicon Valley, Two River Theater Company, three national tours for Theatreworks USA, and more. He has served in the Music Department for dozens of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and has been a Guest Artist at CAP21, The Juilliard School, Pace University, and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. J. is a proud member of ASCAP, Local 802 AFM, The Dramatists Guild of America, and is currently an Assistant Professor in the New Studio on Broadway at New York University - Tisch School of the Arts.
